Mei Wo Design was established in 2000 to serve local communities throughout Long Island, New York. Its founder and principal designer, Pansy Cheng, is both a multi-state registered architect and nationally certified interior designer for over 25 years. She emigrated from the metropolitan city of Hong Kong and graduated from the renowned Rhode Island School of Design, with a BArch in architecture and BFA in Interior Design. In addition, Pansy is also a LEED AP, which means she is an accredited professional in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) building standards and is knowledgeable and experienced in the green building industry.

Pansy moved to Long Island in 1999 and has since been mesmerized by the leisurely, casual, and free-spirited style of Long Island that is also laced with history. She strives to create environments that respect its neighborhood, resonate with its quaint and coastal atmosphere, and suit the client’s branding or personality, with complementing interior design that echoes the style and message.

Originally from Hong Kong, Pansy is also familiar with the eastern Feng Shui concepts, which is a spiritual view of the shapes, flow, orientation and arrangement of a space or a series of spaces that impact the occupants’ well-being. She can design spaces utilizing a combination of the eastern and western studies to create harmonious environments.
